Playing It Safe Over Discipline and Being Patient

There’s a television show that comes on the A&E channel called “Intervention,” have you heard of it?

If you haven’t it document the lives of addicts who do one or two specific drugs.

You may have one episode about a person hooked on meth or another person who is hooked on alcohol, but the reason why the show is called Intervention is that the addicted family contacts the producers to help save their loved one lives.

The addict thinks the cameras are there just to document their lives, but the real reason they’re there is to give the participant an ultimatum…

The ultimatum is to go on a 90 day all expense paid treatment at a rehab facility or their family breaks all contact with the addict(The family being the people who the addict depend on to support the habit).

While watching this a thought occurred to me…

If they stopped their daily routine things would get better for the addicts.

And yet they don’t, why is it so hard for them to break that habit.

Dr. Russell Poldrak, a neurobiologist at the University of Texas in Austin says dopamine is released in the brain during habits

If you do something over and over and dopamine is there, this makes the habit stronger.

When you’re not doing these things, the dopamine creates the craving to do it again.

This is why you are in the same or even bad place in your life because you’re addicted to the habit.

This is why people are playing it safe over discipline and patient. Forming a new habit does not create the dopamine or desire for them.

But wait, what is Dopamine?

Dopamine is a chemical that passes through neurons in your head creating the feel-good feeling you get from sex, pizza, attention, motivation, drugs, etc.

You see, all you are doing is…

TRICKING YOUR BRAIN

You have stayed in the same life, the same routine for years, and you lie to yourself every day that you need to do better, but you know deep down you won’t.

What have you done to change yourself, what have you done to break the habits that redirect your path?

Discipline and Patients are two tools you already have, but like babies that are just learning how to walk, you’re weak at using them.

You haven’t formed the habit of discipline and patients.

Each of these quotes all share a common theme, if you want better for yourself the tool or blueprint that you need is complete and total discipline.

Taking shortcuts won’t work either.

CON MEN WHO PREY ON PEOPLE WHO…

hate discipline and patience. You have people who hate to workout and diet, so they avoid these two disciplines by falling for diet pills that don’t work or do work with some long-term side effect.

You have others who fall for getting rich schemes such as MLM or pyramid schemes that give you hopes of making a huge amount of money fast when in the end you blew your money on a dream.

There is no one around it, if you want to be successful you must have discipline, you must turn discipline into your new habit, and work every day to destroy the old.

Another tool that you need to break the habit of bad life is patience.

Having no type of patience can get you into some very bad situations, it is the reason why some drug users need a quick fix trying to solve the problems through a substance…

It is why some people have children with others they have no love or relationship with.

Patience is Power….

This is another tool that is inside of you that you don’t need a college degree in, it just takes practice just like discipline.

Patience is a habit you must learn.

But don’t just take my words of it, take it, and learn it from other people words

If you are playing it safe over discipline and being patient you will lose in life.

if you attach yourself to your current bad habits, if you neglect discipline and patients here is what you will attain in life:

Lack of money, anger, depression, dependency on drugs, bad health, no self control, needing things right now and not waiting for the full reward (an example of this is people who pay lawyers to give them their settlements which end in half of what they would actually get if they remained patient).

Life is short, so don’t waste it by cutting corners and doing what is comfortable.

Success does not fall out the sky that stuff only happens in the movies or if your parents were wealthy, and even if your parents are wealthy you still need discipline not to destroy your family legacy from being a spoiled brat.

Nothing awesome will be given to you, and if it does that’s when you have to be really careful.

Look at the people who win the lottery, without discipline or patients, they buy up everything and lose it all. They didn’t have the patience to discipline themselves to learn how to make their money grow after they quit their jobs.

So you may be asking now…

HOW DO I CHANGE THE HABIT TO A GOOD ONE?

If you really ask that question then you just unlock the secret that most don’t ever get.

1. You must turn whatever bad habit you in, and change it into a good habit.

This is why when some drug addicts, recover from rehab and don’t keep themselves busy in a positive way, they fall back into the same habit as before.

2. Give yourself a date, do you want to try a new habit for 3 days (I would recommend this), then a week, then a month. Some scientist says it takes 21 days to break a habit. See how you feel and if 21 days is not enough, keep going, because in the end, you’re already halfway into a new habit anyway.

Don’t give up.

3. Reward yourself. Do you want to know why rewarding yourself is so important? It’s important because you have rewarded your brain for so long in the bad habits, that even when you’re not doing the bad things your brain begins to crave it.

Let your brain begin to crave the good habit.

4. Be patient. Things won’t change at the drop of the hat because the world doesn’t work like that. Again like I said with the lottery, when it does drop out the sky, people end up regretting it.

I won’t lie to your guys, turning your life around is not an easy job. It starts with the want and drive to do it, then the action (hard work), then the discipline, and patients.

All those things that I listed are inside of you, but it’s like bodybuilding you have to constantly work on those muscles to see results, and you have to constantly work on those tools to see improvement.

You have a lot of people out there who are in denial, that tell themselves that they will get their lives together, but they won’t.

They know deep down inside they are lying to themselves. When you begin lying to yourself you are done.

The real go-getters want things to happen so bad, that the desire itself put them in action at that very moment, as soon as the thought plants itself in their minds.

They will make it if they welcome failure. Failure is only put there to teach you two lessons

1. Learn from your Mistakes.

2. For you not to get spoiled and use to getting everything you want.

It’s time to win my friends, end the habit, and put an end to playing it safe over discipline and being patient.
